About Josh
Born and raised in North Dakota, Josh grew up an all-star athlete and straight A student. After graduating from Century High School in Bismarck, he went to Minneapolis to pursue big city dreams and more opportunity. After working hard to gain entrance into the Carlson School of Management, he graduated with a Marketing degree and Sports Management minor in 4 years while working his way through school at UPS running a team of 20 people at the age of 20. UPS was his first (and last) taste of climbing the corporate ladder.

After graduation, Josh took his first job in the video game business because he could wear shorts and flip flops to work. That decision was the best thing Josh could have done for his career. Entering the world of product making, steak dinners and big box retail was the launchpad that would create a well-rounded business experience at a very young age. Evolving out of the marketing department of a $500M video game distributor and into the role of Sr. Product Manager traveling to China 5 times a year was another level of experience that still carries weight today.

In 2008 at the age 27, Josh joined his still business partner to head up the product division for a direct OEM manufacturing company for Best Buy. 5 years later he was recruited to crossover into the mobile industry (iPhone, iPad, tech) and become a ‘sales guy’ for new and established brands selling products to Apple Retail in Cupertino, CA. This sales experience provided a well rounded knowledge base and full spectrum of industry knowledge from product making to selling.

Seeing dozens of startup companies first hand was beneficial exposure used in formulating the strategy around how Stigma would enter the infant hemp CBD space in 2018. Focusing on his experience and expertise was paramount to how Stigma was developed over its first 3 years. With a stable base, Stigma now sees the opportunity to go to the next level by expanding into out of state legal cannabis markets while Minnesota lags behind the industry.

Josh currently resides in St. Louis Park and loves to travel (30+ countries visited), golf, bike and practice yoga. He has a house full of lovely ladies with twin 10-year old daughters that love basketball just like their dad.
