About The Campaign: Shadows of Power
The Campaign: Shadows of Power, "thriller" novel, traces the political sabotage initiated by the nefarious "Committee" aimed at pro-choice candidates in three political races across the U.S. The Committee's underlying motives are mixed, and its members contain political and church officials, government aides, and members of the Mob. Inquisitive computer hackers and newspaper reporters try to stitch together seemingly unrelated murders, bombings, vandalism, and assassinations to find the connecting link to the Committee. The book is based on the author's wife's run for political office in 1994 and experiences related to it. Although set in the late 1990s, the themes and actions are eerily familiar in today's U.S.

About Douglas
I have a Ph.D. in Philosophy and began a marketing/social/educational research career in 1971 at the U of M Measurement Services Center--where I became a survey research expert and co-authored the text, Questionnaires:  Design and Use (two editions).  I worked in that field for 45 years--specializing in customer service/satisfaction research.  When I retired, I put my research skill to use to test and refine cocktails, and in 2016 published, Damn Near Perfect Cocktails, that was awarded by the International Bartenders Association as "One of the Top 7 Cocktail Books of the Year."  The book was released in 2025 with an additional 25 cocktails and refinements to the 30 in the 1st edition.
