About Mary
Mary grew up in rural and small-town Minnesota. She loved art as a kid, and took every art class she could, but never dreamt she could be an artist. Instead, she went to school to become an architect. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Washington, Seattle. In her life as a professional artist, Mary has coupled her architectural design knowledge with her love of art. Mary has an art studio located in the historic Thorp Building in NE Minneapolis, which is open to the public via appointment or special events. She travels the country to attend top-tier art festivals. Besides art, gardening is one of her favorite things to do. Mary is at her happiest when she’s making the things around her more beautiful.
