About Andrew
At just 15, Andrew developed a passion for financial education after watching his mother, an immigrant from Jamaica, work tirelessly to support their family. He quickly realized the power of multiple income streams, including real estate investing. Inspired by his insights, his mother earned her real estate license, and Andrew followed suit in 2007 before starting college at the University of Minnesota for Biomedical Engineering.
Shortly after, the real estate market crashed, and Andrew put his license on hold to focus on his studies. However, he continued learning from real estate investors who had built multimillion-dollar portfolios. Understanding the importance of personal finance, he mastered budgeting and credit to position himself for property ownership.
Nine months after graduating, he purchased a duplex, renovated it using borrowed funds, and lived in one unit while renting the other. Within two years, he had repaid the renovation loan and student debt. Today, that property has appreciated over 250%!
In 2020, Andrew launched Expanding Wallet to help others achieve financial success. As a financial coach, he empowers clients to save more, eliminate debt, improve credit, and reach major goals like business ownership and real estate investing.
Andrew is a certified public speaker who frequently speaks at in person and virtual events. He has been featured in the Star Tribune and Voyage Minnesota Magazine. Andrew lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Jasmine, and their cat, Beanie.
