About Celisia Stanton Photography

A Black-owned Minneapolis-based studio offering wedding, family, portrait, headshot, and event photography. Led by Celisia Stanton and supported by a trusted associate team, the studio provides thoughtful, professional coverage for everything from large celebrations to everyday milestones and corporate events.

Our approach blends documentary storytelling with a refined, editorial eye. We focus not only on how things look, but how they feel — capturing natural interactions, meaningful details, and the in-between moments that give photos lasting emotional value. With a team-based structure and consistent editing in Celisia’s signature style, clients receive reliable coverage, a calm presence, and images that feel cohesive and true to the experience.

The goal is simple: photographs that feel like the moment: honest, natural, and worth returning to for years to come.

About Celisia

Celisia Stanton is a Minneapolis-based photographer and storyteller. Through Celisia Stanton Photography, she and her associate team document weddings, families, portraits, headshots, and events with a style that blends documentary honesty and an editorial eye. Her work is rooted in emotion, connection, and the belief that the in-between moments often matter just as much as the big ones.

Known for her calm presence and intuitive way with people, Celisia approaches photography as both observation and care. She pays close attention to how a space feels, how people relate to one another, and the small gestures that quietly define a moment: a hand squeeze, a glance across a room, a burst of laughter right after the “official” photo is over. The result is imagery that feels natural, emotionally grounded, and true to the experience rather than overly staged.

Across all her work, Celisia is drawn to people — how they love, gather, celebrate, and move through complicated, meaningful seasons of life. That same instinct shapes her other projects, including her narrative podcast Truer Crime, where she explores crime stories through a human, social, and cultural lens, and her writing on her Substack newsletter Sincerely, Celisia, where she reflects on culture, community, and everyday life. In each space, her focus remains the same: paying attention to nuance and telling stories with thoughtfulness and care.
Whether she’s photographing a wedding day, documenting a corporate event, interviewing someone for a podcast, or writing about the world around her, Celisia’s work is guided by a deep respect for the people whose stories she’s trusted to hold.

She lives in Minnesota with her husband and works across the Twin Cities and beyond.
