About Richard
Richard Hinkie, the author of the book, began his career as a communications assistant through mentorship, a willingness to try new things and the commitment to growth. He became president of the MEA Energy Association; educational and career development consultant to Fortune 1000 companies, the United States Government, and trade and professional associations; president of a national trade association charged with adding customer satisfaction to millions of its members' customers; one of the founders of EnergyU, the largest online education and training system for electric, gas and construction field employees in the world; and a decorated, retired United States Army Officer completing 24 years of services. He’s not writing about how to take charge of your future at work from the sidelines; his life experiences and wisdom have been learned in the trenches.

During his career he met with senior leaders from organizations from Apple computer to Victoria’s Secret and many others. He asked them all the same question: How did you achieve career success and satisfaction given the modest original employment you had? One person was shoveling coal at a power plant and became the president, another was a nurse's aid in a room of 31 others and became the chief administrative officer for the Mayo Clinic worldwide. Others were sales, clerks, engineers, teachers, and accountants.

The seven keys to a more satisfying future at work is the result of these 60 interviews. Beyond the written content in the book. Richard Hinkie has created www.your7keys.com website which has free career assessment and career planning downloads. There are also both Apple and Google play apps that are also free and will guide you in making the most of your career. Soon there will be an extensive fully interactive online course that will guide users into creating a very strong career plan.
