About RJ
RJ has been a Financial Advisor for more than 25 years, specializing in investment management, retirement planning and sustainable, responsible and impact investing. RJ joined Penny Bond & Associates in 1993, became partner in 2001 and sole owner of Bond and Devick Financial Network in 2006. RJ is often invited to share his investment insight and portfolio strategies with other investment professionals, including how to incorporate sustainable, responsible and impact investing into portfolio construction. He served in several capacities for the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota of which he is a past board member.

RJ is deeply involved in the Twin Cities community through his activities with many local charitable organizations. Most notable has been his work with People Serving People homeless shelter for which he helped establish two annual fundraisers. On a worldwide level, RJ and his wife, Teresa, have been instrumental in supporting and overseeing two schools located in southern Ethiopia (Hosanna and Ottoro) which is where their daughter, Aster, was born. They are also Alight (formally the American Refugee Committee) Changemakers.

In 2008 the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts bestowed him with the Alumni of Notable Achievement award for his service to the University, his clients and the community. In 2014 RJ received Cetera's prestigious "Quality of Life" award for his commitment to the profession, his clients, and his volunteer activities. Currently, RJ is on the University of Minnesota Adoption Medicine Clinic Advisory Board and in 2023 was elected as a member to People Serving People's Board of Directors, where he has worked and served in some capacity since 1993. He lives in Maple Grove with his wife, Teresa and they have three daughters, Grace, Clare and Aster. RJ spends his time away from the office traveling, working on social justice issues and being with his family.
