About Ruby
Ruby is the founder of DeBellis Consulting, a public affairs and communications firm that partners with organizations that are working to improve lives and strengthen communities. With a background in public service, she understands how policy, people, and communications all connect—and how to bring those pieces together in a way that actually moves work forward.
She’s a graduate of the University of Minnesota Morris and earned her master’s degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Over the years, Ruby has worked across government, advocacy, and community-based efforts, giving her a well-rounded perspective on how change happens—and where things can get stuck.
Ruby especially enjoys helping organizations take complex ideas and turn them into clear, accessible messages that people can understand and connect with. Whether she’s supporting a communications strategy, shaping a narrative, or helping think through public-facing work, she brings a practical, collaborative approach to every project.
She works closely with clients as a true partner, offering flexible support that fits their needs, capacity, and pace. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—just thoughtful guidance grounded in experience and a commitment to getting things done well.
At the heart of her work is a belief that good communication should be clear, inclusive, and rooted in the communities it’s meant to serve. Ruby lives in Minneapolis with her husband Noah and their son, Arthur.
