About Vanessa
As the Principal Solutionist of Levingston Management, LLC, Vanessa Levingston takes pride in providing public affairs, strategic communications, and program management services to her clients.
Levingston Management leverages Vanessa’s 20+ years of providing superior outreach, engagement, and customer service to external and internal audiences; and successful collaborations with government and private sectors. In short, Vanessa Levingston is a business leader on the rise.
Vanessa began her career as a passionate advocate for her community - St. Paul’s Rondo neighborhood. After working in nonprofit and education, Vanessa entered state government, utilizing her community networking and connecting skills to serve in the areas of; transportation, environment, energy, and community resiliency. It was during this time that Vanessa decided to build on her knowledge of community building, and she pursued and completed a master’s in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute.
During her service with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), among her accomplishments was bridging community engagement between the Rondo community and MnDOT by leveraging the wealth of knowledge within the community to educate MnDOT planners and engineers on the effects and impacts of transportation and land use decisions.
In March 2015, she headed south -- first landing in Tampa, Florida, where she worked with the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART); followed by her next stop, in September 2015, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The timing of her arrival in Atlanta aligned perfectly with the robust focus and ongoing construction of Atlanta’s evolving transportation system. Vanessa worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the Metropolitan Atlanta Regional Transit Authority (MARTA), in addition to a consulting firm focused on behavior change of drivers of solo occupied vehicles.
After much reflection, during a turbulent time worldwide, Levingston Management, LLC was developed in June 2020. Vanessa continued to work as an employee for others as she built her business behind the scenes. In February 2024, her employer lost a major contract, forcing Vanessa to make the decision that NOW is the time for Levingston Management, LLC.
Offices were developed in Georgia and Minnesota. “It is important for me to stay connected to the community that developed my passion for serving the people. It’s important because I was Rondo Raised”, Vanessa Levingston.
